The countdown to OEB MidSummit has begun.

The two-day “thinkference” will kick off with an Opening Plenary from keynote speakers Andrew Keen, Stephanie Butler and Ari Kristinn Jónsson. Writer and Internet analyst Andrew Keen will explain why he believes 21st century society is facing a “structural crisis” and what educators should be doing to help fix it. Stephanie Butler will look beyond today’s Edtech revolution to explore the impact of technologies that will soon put learners in charge of their learning. Ari Kristinn Jónsson - President of the University of Reykjavik will share with us his vision about the future of education.

We go deeper on Thursday evening when the controversial Donald Clark and Roger Schank will be grilled on their view that universities are no longer either relevant or fit for purpose in our “Hard Talk” Plenary: Is HE Still Worth it?”

Friday’s plenary Looking at Tomorrow’s Learning Landscape under the Light of the Midnight Sun invites you to be a tourist in the world of tomorrow’s learning.  Nell Watson, Tony O’Driscoll and Audrey Watters will lead us on our journey, in which innovation, talent and skills feature prominently; where new technological solutions grow and spread rapidly; where foresight and effective risk management are at a premium and Machine Intelligence and personalised learning play an increasing role.
